San Sebastián 2010

Wednesday January 20th is the Fiesta de San Sebastián, patron saint of Frigiliana.

At noon on the 20th there is a Mass in honour of San Sebastián with the Coro Rociero Peña La Amistad. At around 13:00 it’s off to the plaza de las 3 Culturas where there will be singing and dancing by the younger members of the community, a flamenco show and music by Alalba.

The procession takes place at around 19:30 and, because of all the roadworks, it will be a there and back route between the Plaza de la Iglesia and El Ingenio.

The largest foreign population is British, followed (a long way behind) by Germans. Only 109 of the Spanish residents do not hail from Andalucía.

However, according to the analysis of water usage and waste materials, the actual population of Frigiliana could be nearer 4,000.
